Απ’ τη ρούμπα “Άγιον Στάλαγμα”, σαν μύρο κατεβαίνει,
κι όποιος το πιει με την καρδιά, ευχή στον τόπο στέλνει.
Υπάρχουν στιγμές που ο χρόνος δεν μετριέται με ώρες, αλλά με στάλες.
Στάλες που γεννιούνται μέσα στη φωτιά, περνούν από τον χαλκό και κουβαλούν μαζί τους τη μνήμη μιας γης, τον μόχθο των ανθρώπων της και το άρωμα μιας πανάρχαιας συνήθειας.
«Το Άγιον Στάλαγμα» είναι ένα φωτογραφικό ταξίδι στα καζανέματα της Κρήτης· μια ωδή στους ανθρώπους που κρατούν ζωντανή μια παλιά τελετουργία, στις νύχτες που φωτίζονται από τη φλόγα, στις παρέες που δένονται γύρω από το καζάνι και στη στιγμή που η τσικουδιά γεννιέται σταγόνα τη σταγόνα.
Η φωτογραφική έκθεση του Νίκου Μπασιά με τίτλο «Το Άγιον Στάλαγμα» αποτελεί το κεντρικό πολιτιστικό γεγονός της Σούγιας το 2026.

From the “rumba” a holy drop, like myrrh descends so sweet,
and whoever drinks it with the heart, sends a blessing to this land.
There are moments when time is not measured in hours, but in drops.
Drops born in fire, passing through copper, carrying with them the memory of a land, the toil of its people, and the aroma of an age-old tradition.
“The Holy Drop” is a photographic journey into the “kazanemata” of Crete—the traditional distillation of tsikoudia. It is an ode to the people who keep this timeless ritual alive, to the nights illuminated by the glow of the fire, to the gatherings that form around the still, and to the moment when tsikoudia is born, one drop at a time.
The photographic exhibition by Nikos Basias entitled “The Holy Drop” is the central cultural event of Sougia in 2026.
